About Bristol County

Bristol County is a county located in the southeastern part of the state of Massachusetts, USA. It is situated along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and borders both Rhode Island and Plymouth County. Its county seat is Taunton.

The county has a population of approximately 565,000 people, making it the 6th most populous county in Massachusetts. The county is home to several cities, including New Bedford, Fall River, and Taunton, as well as many small towns and villages.

Bristol County is known for its rich history, with many historical sites and landmarks to explore. One of the most notable is the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, which is now a bed and breakfast and museum that provides a glimpse into the infamous 1892 axe murders that took place there. The county is also home to several historic homes and estates, such as the Rotch-Jones-Duff House and Garden Museum in New Bedford.

Bristol County is home to several state parks, including Horseneck Beach State Reservation and Freetown-Fall River State Forest, as well as many other parks and nature preserves.
